Katrina Mitchell (they/them), Development Worker on the Trans Support Programme

Bio

Katrina (they/them) joined LGBT Health and Wellbeing in late 2015 as the Development Worker for the newly funded Glasgow Trans Support Programme. They previously worked in the HIV and sexual health sector for Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland and Waverley Care, mostly in rural Argyll and Bute where they also supported trans and non-binary folk. Their work at LGBT Health includes involvement in integral policy work; they are a member of the Scottish Government’s Non-binary Working Group. Katrina also does work in healthcare improvement for trans people with both NHS and Scottish government, ensuring the experiences of the queer and trans community are acknowledged.

Katrina volunteered historically for Girls Rock Glasgow and Glasgow Women’s Library and is an ardent Rock Drummer. Katrina holds a degree in European Civilisation from University of Glasgow.
