Understanding the abuse of older LGBTQ+ people in domestic and institutional contexts One day in-person interactive workshop Call for contributions

We are co-convening a one-day in-person interactive workshop, to be hosted by the University of York, York, UK on Friday 26th April, 2024, 10-4, and led by Professor Trish Hafford-Letchfield, Department of Social Work and Social Policy, University of Strathclyde, UK. 

Co-convenors: Dr Sue Westwood, York Law School, University of York, and Professor Trish Hafford-Letchfield, Department of Social Work and Social Policy, University of Strathclyde, UK 

We are inviting contributions on all aspects of abuse of older LGBTQ+ people, including: physical abuse; sexual abuse; psychological abuse; financial or material abuse; discriminatory abuse; organisational abuse; domestic violence; modern slavery; neglect; and acts of omission. 

We welcome contributions on research, policy, or practice initiatives. 

Those interested in delivering a 15-20 mins presentation at the workshop are invited to send us an outline of your proposed contribution of no more than 250 words. Closing dates for outlines: Friday 26th January 2024.
